Episode 9, It Explains the Graphics..., probably will be the smallest comic we will ever publish, in terms of file size. GIFs using only black, white, and gray apparently don't take up much room in the file. Who would've thought? Don't worry all you people who feel shortchanged by the small file size of today's comic, all the next few comic will be much bigger.

By the by, this comic's first (of two) jokes (can you spot them?) was despised by Authorman. He felt that a DMV joke was cheap and unfunny. Well I disagree, and therefore, it is there. Don't be surprised if he feels the need to rant about it, however. I consider this fair warning before you scroll down.

Drew, when you read this, congratulations, you have become the second confirmed Fantasy Qwest reader! Sorry, no prize.

DGC out.

And now, the rant...

Well what do you know, I've been blindsided... AGAIN. I had no prior warning that he was going to do this and I thought that the matter was dropped weeks ago. But alas fair maidens and maidenettes, DGC has dredged up the past and now I will have to throw my two bits in and I warn you this will not be pretty.

When I look at things I look at things below the surface. In movies I concentrate on scripting and how well the actors spit their lines out. In art I look at individual pieces of the picture and not just the picture as a whole, and in comedy I look at the delivery and the punchline the comic doesn't do. Kind of like in jazz, listening to the notes that aren't being played, (Hell, I could do that at home.) In all I have become a very conservative critic of what is good and say, what DGC would do. I personally believe that DMV jokes are cheap and outdated bits that I don't want floating around in something that I write. I consider DMV jokes to be as bad if not worse than airline food jokes. I don't want something as predictably unfunny as a goddamn DMV bit, in anything that I put my name on.

Yes, but that ain't the half of the story, kiddos.

The original joke that was scrapped and replaced by that festering boil that is an unfunny (even by DMV standards) joke, was replaced because of a random political correctness issue. The original was that the character says "Hey, I just got back from my smoke break, It's still loading?" This later plot-important bit was supposed to, later down the road, spawn into a series of anti/pro-smoking bits. It was cut for reasons I have no control over, seeing as I'm not allowed within a 100-yard radius of the art. All I have to say is...

Fuckaphilliac.
